The Antithesis or The Christian Warfare

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:10-12.

The term antithesis gives expression to the relation of a Christian, as a child of God, to a sinful world. That relation is not one of compromise nor of world flight but of spiritual warfare. This section has two elements. The first element is a doctrinal discussion of the nature of the Christian's warfare and his place in a sinful world.

The second aspect of this subject is the practical application of the doctrine to specific issues. These are issues which every Christian must face and consider before the Lord. They are matters of what is sin and what is the way of godliness.
